again, there are two main things i’d suggest focusing on: -studying the different parts of an armor and how they work and -visualizing the armor as 3d shapes
i found some sites that go over things like armor parts and their functions here and here, a lot of nice photo reference here, and a bunchoflabelleddiagrams on google images
there is a lot of liberty you can take with the details, shapes, and proportions etc, (also remember, medievaleuropeisn’ttheonlyera armor comes from!) so you can use that to communicate things like the time period and culture the armor is from, the personality of its wearer, etc.
with simplifying armor into 3d shapes i’d basically just use a regular human body as a base. having a decent grasp of anatomy really helps with this i think
there is technically little or no difference between actual male/female armor, from the way i understand things at least (armor is just armor after all), but you can take a look at this post of mine for strategies you can use to make armor look more masculine or feminine
and then of course there’s that boob plate thing there are reasons why those don’t really work in real life but you could always pull out the artistic liberty card so

Note that the armor I drew would be worn around 15th century, the more into the future the less and less components knight’s armor had (i. e. in early 14th century instead of greaves a knight would wear long boots only; in 12th century knights didn’t wear plate breastplates and instead a chain mail only). Also the design of armor pattern changed by year and was different in every country (i.e. in eastern Europe armors, while still looking European, were heavily influenced by Turkey). so just make sure you always do research whenever drawing an armor. And one more thing to keep in mind is that armors were expensive, knights wearing a full plate armor weren’t an often sight.

How to not mix them up (for those who might be learning English): If you walk upright when boarding, you’re getting on. If you sit into a seat from the door, you’re getting in.
So, for example, you also get *on* a plane or boat, and *in* a carriage.
Oh, that is a good distinction.

@housenka I also have the same feeling as you regarding Corriander and other stuffs that you mentioned, for I am also a non-native speaker of English.
@yukiwrites I do not read your Corriander sins (I do not like NSFW stories), but I like your Corriander stuffs in general. Your Corriander stories make me love Corrin and Xander very much. You also make me want to write some Corriander fanfictions as well. It is strange that, although my homeland and yours are separated by a large ocean, we both love Corriander.
For @yukiwrites and other Corriander writers and artists – I loved your fanfics and artworks. In fact, I often feel that I am “inadequate” and “unworthy” when I read/see your fanfics and arts (sorry for the overly dramatic words). I often feel as if I were standing beneath the shadows of giants. Hopefully, I would be able to overcome my self esteem problem one day, so that I would finally be able to feel proud that I manage to become a decent writer because I am “standing on the shoulders of giants.”
